Our Story

Happy Hound Treat Co started in late 2019. Our beloved family dog had received the worst possible diagnosis from the vet- Stage 4 cancer, there was nothing they could do other than high dose steroids and pain medication, he was given a week at best. We were shattered beyond words. 

We began looking into what foods would restore the good that the steroids were stripping away- along came turmeric- a superfood known for its anti-inflammatory, liver support and free radical cell fighting properties, and so our Sweet Potato & Turmeric cookie was born. Whilst we knew this would never be enough to rid our boy of cancer we had to help restore the balance, With whole fresh foods, we got an extra 4 weeks with our Axle.

We do not claim our treats are able to cure cancer or rid a dogs body of disease, but we do believe that if we load our dogs up with as much of the good stuff as possible, should they get sick they are able to fight it off much easier.

Happy Hound Treat Co has grown from just making treats for friends and family to selling at markets across the Central Coast, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. 

We want to ensure that every dog owner knows the benefits of having treats full of all the good stuff and none of the nasties, which is why our focus is on using only the highest quality locally sourced ingredients free from artificial colours, and flavours, with no added sugars and salts and no animal by products.
